Honolulu
Streets Magazine.
It’s been a disturbing 13 years since
I moved away from Hawaii, but I’ll admit nine of them have been
soothing. Why?
Because it didn’t occur to me until
after I read last months Hawaii Motorbeat anniversary issue that
this coming November will officially mark nine years I have been
posting Honolulu Streets magazine on the internet. Wow, that’s a
long time! And it might not seem like it now but if you add it up,
Honolulu Streets has covered a lot in that time too.
What’s even more surprising is that
back in 2001, when Honolulu Streets began, it was essentially the
only hot rod and automotive news magazine for Hawaii being posted on
the internet.
Info on when and where the next cruise
night car show would be was tough to find on the internet too. And
if you weren’t frequently going to auto parts stores or a barber
shop around town every month or so, chances were pretty good that
you’d never really see a lot of the cruise night posters that had
been hanging in their windows. I remember the only surefire way to
know when the next cruise night would be was by word-of-mouth.
Yep, and prior to 2004, there were no
message boards or forums for Hawaii’s automotive community like
there are today. In my opinion three of the best have got to be,
Hawaii Talks, Hawaii Performance Mustangs and of course Jalopy
Journal, which covers everything hotrod from everywhere.
So like our Hawaii Motorbeat friends
have done, here’s a run down of what we’ve covered through the
years. But Rather than show you what you can already find in our
street news section, here are nine Honolulu Streets featured
articles that have been tucked away in the archives, and one of the
most all time popular- making the list an even ten.
ARCHIVED PAGES WILL OPEN IN A NEW
WINDOW

10) The all time most popular

posted in May 2005. Were gonna do another update very shortly on
Don’s 8-Ball coupe so keep watching for it.
Until next month - Aloha
a hui hou,

you just might hear it first in Honolulu Streets.
